Indiana Mental Health Management Reentry Program

Through a grant funded by the Second Chance Act and Bureau of Justice, the Indiana Department of Corrections and InteCare have partnered to create the Indiana Mental Health Management Model. This program assists individuals who have been incarcerated and have mental health issues who are returning to Marion & the surrounding counties to connect them with the services and programs they need to be successful. A reentry coordinator will assist 75 individuals during the grant year by first “reaching in” and connecting with the participants before they are released and then continuing to provide support and assistance once they are released and return to the community. The goal of the program is to ensure participants are connected to the resources they need so they are no longer involved in the criminal justice system.
