InteCare is starting a representative payee program! We are just in our initial stages and excited about the opportunity to be able to offer these services to organizations and relieve some of the administrative burden.

As the Representative Payee, InteCare will manage the individuals’ Social Security funds and will work in collaboration with Care Coordinators located within the organization. Care Coordinators will work with clients to develop monthly budgets and help them prioritize expenses and work toward financial independence. We see this as a unique opportunity to assist organizations with clients in need of payee services.  We hope to grow this program in the future.

If you are interested in learning more about our representative payee program, please contact Ashley Peavler apeavler@intecare.org.

Nearly 50 years ago Vietnam Veterans returned home without honors or recognition, instead were met with insults and protest. This year, on March 29, InteCare’s Supportive Service for Veteran Families Program (SSVF), along with other Veteran Organizations and U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly, welcomed home hundreds of Vietnam War veterans from across Indiana. The ceremony was to recognize, honor, and thank Vietnam Veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice. The event took place at Plainfield High School as part of the National Vietnam War Veterans Day celebration. In attendance were Gold Star Families, veterans of other eras, Vietnam veterans’ families, and friends and members of the community.

InteCare is making changes to our rostering organizations and facilities for the network. To ensure compliance with NCQA standards, InteCare will start credentialing all licensed providers in our network. By taking all network providers through the credentialing process, we can ensure each provider will be listed on the payor directories.

Once your providers have been credentialed, they will be on a three year recredentialing cycle. We will contact you six months in advance of their expiration date to begin the recredentialing process. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this change.

The InteCare Network staff will contact each organization regarding how this process will begin. If your organization would like to start the process now, please contact Julie Maxwell-Coker jmaxwellcoker@intecare.org.

We are pleased to announce that the Department of Veteran Affairs awarded InteCare with the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) grant for the 5th year in a row. In 2017, the program served over 401 households and provided over $559,000 in financial assistance on behalf of Veteran households. Nationally, the number of Veterans experiencing homelessness decreased by 18 percent. InteCare’s SSVF Team continues to be grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the solution to ending Veteran Homelessness in our community.

However, there is more to be done, according to the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) Veterans are an increasing percentage of the overall population of those experiencing homelessness. They now make up a quarter of the homeless population. If you are interested in donating to our cause, please visit our website at http://www.intecare.org/supportive-services-for-veteran-families. Your donations cover items not allowable under the SSVF Grant. 100% of the donations go to our Veteran families.

Each year, InteCare hosts a training for MHFRP time study, roster, and financial liaisons for all participating agencies to review the MHFRP process. MHFRP Manager, Brooke Abbott, decided to try something a little different this year and present the opportunity of an Online Training. With hopes to eliminate the stress from travel and time away from work, while benefiting the liaisons that could not attend in person, the online training was a hit!

The presentation was broken down into three different PowerPoints: Time Study Process, Rosters, and Financials. The efforts of each agency liaison are critical to the success of the program and many participating agencies have multiple liaisons that are responsible for different aspects. This method allowed each liaison to view their role and responsibility at their own pace without becoming overwhelmed with an extensive amount of information within one day.

In the past few years, the MHFRP has made changes to many pieces of the program, first enhancement being ‘Going Green’ for the time study tool. Now that we have started the trend in becoming more efficient online, the next big thing to come in 2018 is a web-based application for Cost Reports and Rosters! Stay tuned for more information in the following months.

InteCare is pleased to announce that we have won the contract to continue as the Fiscal Agent for the Indiana Mental Health Funds Recovery Program! This will be our 19th year managing this program and we couldn’t be more excited.  We have exciting plans to enhance the program this next year so stay tuned!

The MHFRP is a federal reimbursement program that allows Managed Care Providers to recover federal funds based on Medicaid administrative activities performed by agency staff.  The week-long time study is an approved method to quantify the amount of time spent completing administrative activities by providers across the state.

Thank you MHFRP team for all the hard work and effort!!
